“ All I have to say, is that this place has AMAZING sundaes!!! I am so happy that I don't live really close to this place, cause I have no self control here. I take all out of towners here.

“ I love the chocolate sundae..my gf order the single scoop and get a double scoop for herself. She said since this is my 1st time here I will not be able to finish it..Well unfortunately 1 scoop is not enough for me..The fudge is so chocolaty..I am the big fan of chocolate..and this is the best fudge I've ever had...

“ Love the hot fudge sundae here =)
Tip: There are 2 ice cream shops there..there is a small one near the restroom and souvenir shops also serve sundae..the line there is not as long as the main one at the front.

“ great place to go for dessert if you're in the area. Sundaes are big, rich, sweet, fun to eat. We had the strike it rich, which had like butterscotch, caramel, chocolate syrups, one of the sweetest sundaes i've ever had. YUmmmy! It also fun to see all the kids in there eating their huge sundaes and getting hyper. ”

“ Free chocolate caramel square for walking through the gift shop. That's why I go if I'm in the neighborhood (how cheap am I?).
Here's the problem with the ice cream: By the time the server finds you, the fudge has melted half the ice cream. Soupy.
Take the out of towners, for sure, and take yourself if it's been too long. Good nostalgia splurge for the kid in you. Decent diner-style coffee for the old lady/gent in you. ”

“ It's Ghirardelli Square! The chocolate and ice cream is good! However, it's always crowded, and it's first-come, first-serve, in regards to seating, so you have to be ruthless when getting a seat. Luckily, people don't take too long to eat ice cream, so seats become available quickly. ”

“ Ghiradilli is known for chocolate...and we're lucky to have them here in SF. I've tried both the Ghiradelli hot chocolate as well as their chocolate shake...and, even though I'm not a chocoholic, I was in love. ”

“ Got the earthquake with a bunch of people ... OMG... ice cream overload, but it's fun to eat. You gotta be comfortable with swapping germs with people though, because it's definitely must be shared. ”

“ The biggest ice cream sundae you can imagine. While your friends wait in line go to the chocolate shop and get a free piece of chocolate. Very touristy, but everyone loves ice cream! ”

“ I had the feeling that I was line at Disneyland. And after getting inside, I think Disneyland is quieter and more efficient. Between the wait, the rude people letting their kids run around, sticky table surfaces and dirty floors littered with straw coverings, you really gotta love this atmosphere to have an enjoyable ice cream experience here. Since Farrell?s is gone, I think Swensen?s serves up a better tasting product and you don?t get a headache from the crowds and noise!. All Baskin Robbins needs to do, is add glassware, jack the price up 2 or 3 bucks, bring in screaming unruly kids and you?ve got another Ghirardelli ice cream place. There is nothing special about this place other than the noise. And that you can blow 20 bucks on a couple of chocolate bars in their gift shop, which you have to go thru to wait or get to the bathroom. Only positive is that there a parking garage next door. ”

“ Classic ice cream parlor. A great place to go, even though there's tons of annoying tourists loitering around. Definitely one of the places that define SF. ”

“ Absolutely incredible sundaes. They are hugs, tho, so watch out! Go next door and get a free (sample) square of chocolate to go with your divinely rich ice cream! Yum! Watch out b/c parking meters work until late at night (ie way past 6pm) and the area is usually filled with tourists but besides that, please check out this great ice cream spot. Everytime my best friend comes to town (from Boston) she requests a late night pilgrimidge to get a sundae. It's worth the drive~'nuff said! ”

“ I have fantastic memories of out of town visitors because of this place. Every time we had to take the tourists around we ended up at Ghirardelli and I got enormous and creative ice cream sundays. Really, enormous and super yummy. Share them - with many people. ”

“ get the earthquake! haha, i'm just kidding. a group of people picking at a gigantic platter of ice cream, cherries, nuts, whipped cream, etc. is not a pretty sight after a while. but if you like the challenge, go for it. the almond ice cream is good there. lines can get quite long late at night. go to the chocolate shop, cause they give you a free chocolate sample. ”

“ My favorite place to indulge myself and forget about my diet. The ice cream will make you forget that it's a tourist trap. A great place to reward yourself indeed. For those who want to keep fit but still want to experience the heavenly sundaes at Ghiradelli's, start your trip with an easy stroll from the Embarcadero, past Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. It's a nice walk with lots of street scenes that won't bore you. Just be careful of the Bush Man! ”

“ This is a definite must stop for anyone at least once, but a great place to take visitors. Historically it is the actual site where the factory was, not made on premises anymore but the quality is there. I HATE to wait in lines, but here I will for the divinely decadent fabulously wonderfully hot fudge...oh la la, I just gained 2 pounds thinking about it...YUM ”

“ It's a must if you have visitors in town. If you have a group of at least 4, indulge in their Earthquake Sundae - 8 scoops of heaven, 8 different toppings, hot fudge, whipped cream... need I say more? ”

“ Ghiradelli Square. Famous Ice Cream - very touristy but when we want ice cream, this is a fun place to grab a $7 sundae. The banana split.. ask for extra fudge. ”
