“
Hukilau is small but it has a nice atmosphere. Prices and service is okay. The last time I was there, there was live music and a retired wrestler happen to be there too. My bf answered a question correctly and he got a signed t-shirt. ”

“ I am a big fan of the hawaiian cuisine, and this place is pretty good. It's not Roy's, but it has a quaint atmosphere. Always packed on the weekends for the live music. Good tropical cocktails and the pulled pork rocks. I recommend the pork and cheese fries! ”

“ the waitstaff was very nice and tried to give me whatever i needed, but i think that i'm just not interested in hawaiian food. i was there for brunch and looked over the menu many times. i finally settled on chicken hash and it was fine. but this place just didn't appeal to me. beyond the menu, the music was way too loud, especially since few people were there at that point in the day. i wouldn't tell people 'don't go,' but it just didn't catch me. ”

“
I love this place mostly because of the lively atmosphere on weekends when they have hawaiian bands. I tend to stick with my favorites on the menu: ahi poke, pele's wings, chicken katsu (or teri beef) loco moco, and hawaiian punch. Could skip the saimin, grilled mahi mahi, and big brownie. On weekends, the wait can be very long. Service mixed depending on server's tenure. Owner and some staff originally from Hawaii. ”

“ I love it, the last time I went there, the bartender were doing some cocktail trick. It was kool and the food are huge and good. I had the beef and chicken over rice.

“ A nice place for those that enjoy island food. I loved the pulled pork Quesadillas! Very tasty and reminded me of the pork at hawaiian Luau's. I also tried the chicken adobo which is one of my favorites. The food is a little slow out of the kitchen, but well worth the wait.

“ If going for the show and food it's just fine and the shows can be entertaining. I have gone there a few times and even though my friends play there on occasion let me tell you this, THE TROPICAL cocktailS NEED A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT, COMPLETE RECIPE CHANGE OR TRAINING OF THE STAFF. I want to be nice but the drinks just suck, it's hard for me to say that because I want to support 'local kine' stuffs but I have to be honest. It's good for people watching too. So go watch a show, some people, have a drink that not even you can mess up and have some food, enjoy it for what it is, but the tropical drinks are much better at Tiki Tom's or beleive it or not Rainforest Cafe, not a joke. ”

“ The service is slow, but the atmosphere is relaxing. You MUST try their heart attack-inducing treat -- a heavenly plate of french fries with melted cheese and kahlua pork on top. During the summer, the patio is a great spot. ”

“ I enjoy this restaurant for some of its items, but not all. The menu is nice but it is never delivered consistently. The standard items come through nicely - the salads, the burgers, etc. Unfortunately the more exotic items might have different tastes from one visit to the next. Service is ALWAYS slow. Weekends are always crowded. As a nearby patron, I wish this place was split into restaurant and bar. Then they can do both well. I vote it neutral because it still has a great price and it's shortcomings are predictable. It is great and unusual pub fare, but it is not a good polynesian restaurant. ”

“ If you are into cheesy pseudo-island decor, super-overcrowded seating, incredibly noisy dining, and mediocre food, then this is for you. We had a large group at this restaurant and I tasted everything on the table. Absolutely nothing I would ever eat again. Something was wrong in the preparation of all the food I had. I would say skip it, unless somehow hawaiian food is an absolute necessity for you. I could live without it. ”
