“ I liked their roti prata and spicy basil chicken. The aroma of the basil made the food so appealing and tasty. Their prices are not cheap, but reasonable enough. I didn't like their calamari, it's not as good as the fried calamari at Sinbad's along the Embarcadero. ”

“
Yummmy! Yum Yum! I don't dine at these kinds of places very often because the food tends to be on the oily side. Sometimes you have to give your self a break from eating healthy.
The dink menu was exotic. A variety of infused vodka's littered the menu. The also had mojitos and sake drinks. I didn't't review the wine menu since the cocktail menu had an abundant of choices to tease the palate.
For appetizers we had the Roti bread and the skewered chicken with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was a bit rich and oily - but liked it all the same. We ordered the shrimp salad, which had a tangy flavor; and the spare ribs that just peeled off the bone with every slow and tender bite. The only thing that could have made the shrimp salad better was the addition of more shrimp as it was a little on the light side.
The pepper crab was awesome. It was succulent and my greedy little mouth could not stop chowing it down. I could taste all the spices and it took me a good hour to eat. I sta ”

“ Came here for dinner recently and I really liked it. Loved the decor of it also. We tried the Tuna Tower, it's like a tuna tartar. Lots of tuna served with fried wonton chips and wasabi sauce. We also tried the garlic noodle with chicken. LOTS of garlic, make sure you bring gum with you. Lemon grass beef was also another entree. I liked it but didn't love it. A little over cooked for my taste. Served with frites in a little chinese take out box, really cute. For dessert, I tried the White lava cake. It took forever for them to give me my order, about 20 min, without letting me know it takes that long, but when it came out, it looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Will go and try other dishes that I saw other people order.

“ Straits Restaurant, with us
Head straight to Straits! Order: garlic noodles, mussels in garlic sauce, fried calamari, gadogado, origami sea bass, and the naan bread. Finish off your fantastic meal with the chocolate cake with melty chocolate inside, paired with ice cream! I can I say, "Scrumptelightful!"

“ I am so glad that this restaurant has kept it's wonderful flavors. We stopped here after shopping at around 3pm and still had to wait about 15minutes. They have a large bar area to wait in where you can have appetizers and drinks. The Ginger soda is light and refreshing. There seems to be a wider variety on this menu compared to the old Geary location. We had the Murtabak appetizer, which had rich, complex flavors with a mild curry dipping sauce. My girlfriend had the Chap Chye, which I tasted, and will order the next time I go back. I ordered the garlic noodles which had too much black pepper and not enough garlic. I was disappointed to see that my favorite string bean dish did not make it to this menu, but the good news is that there are many new dishes!

“ Had dinner with a group this evening. What a great experience.
We had the Rack of Lamb, really good, the mango mint emulsion was a nice touch to compliment the lamb flavor. Also, we sampled the Ikan Goreng, fried whole striped bass, delicious. Laksa Lemak was really good too, with the perfect blend of coconut milk seafood and mushrooms. I requested the dishes to be "toned down. Some people in our party can't really handle the heat of chili peppers normally used in these dishes.
I'm sure doing this skewed an already wonderful review, how much better if the chef wasn't hindered by the easy on the chili request?
For dessert, the chocolate cake is a must.

“ Lively, hip and decorated in the way as most trendy asian restaurants are these days w/ dark wood & a smattering of stone Buddha heads. They have a dining section, as well as a bar -n- lounge section of the restaurant. Despite the cookie-cutter pan-asian interior, I found our dishes pretty tasty and fun to share, especially the appetizers---french fries & spring rolls. However, even for the salt-lover that I am, I have to concur w/ Wyld4yoo about the extreme saltiness of a dish, specifically the Ayam Kalasam. Since they unintentionally gifted us an extra entree on the house, I maintain the positive review. This is a good place for group dining and drinking and conveniently located in the San Francisco Centre. ”

“ I tried Straits for lunch a few days ago and it was packed! We were seated promptly by the cutest hostess. We decided to get a few small plates instead of the entrees. The Roti bread was delicious when dipped in the curry sauce. The Ahi Tartare was quite good. The Garlic Noodles were very tasty without an over powering garlic taste. We also tried a noodle dish that was the best of all the small plates. There was only one bad dish and that was a veggie dish with black bean sauce. It was so salty, I had to wipe the sauce off. I'm a salt lover and let me tell you, the chef must have dropped the whole salt shaker in there by mistake. I'm sure it will be corrected and the dish was cordially taken off our bill. I want to go back for dinner!
