We had quite a nice, relaxing dinner here the other evening. The 2 of us made our meal out of several shared appetizers from the intriguing appetizer menu, the large greek salad and a shared entree, the Beyti (ground lamb in rolled lavash bread toped with a really delicious yogurt and paprika butter sauce). Even I - a non-yogurt lover adored the Haydari, a yogurt dip served with the house made bread. The little lentil logs, served with a tasty sauce and eaten rolled in lettuce (Mercimek) were also as hit as were the zucchini cakes (Mucver) . A flan like dessert topped off the meal with a couple of cups of good coffee. Our soft spoken waiter was efficient, attentive and helpful in making recommendations from the menu. Not lavishly decorated but attractive and restful. I will be here again when I'm in this part of town. Be warned that the parking situation is dismal here but you probably already know that. The sampler appetizer is just enough to taste the babaganoush, hummus, and tabouli. I also recommend their flat bread pizza. It hits the spot. I went w/ my favorite neighbor for his Bday and was pleasantly surprised. I hear on certain nights they have a piano/jazz situation. Would go again. Review #17225

I went here for lunch last week with a friend and we liked it very much. The decor is attractive and they put us at a table in the window where we could watch the passing parade on Clement St. I cannot remember the Turkish names of our dishes, but they were very tasty and having been to Turkey, I can say they tasted very authentic. Let's hope they don't decide to add belly dancers!!! Review #15438

This place was pretty good overall. The food was good, but definitely not as tasty as my favorite, A la Turca. But, unlike A La Turca, Troya has great atmosphere, a lengthier wine list and a little more formality. We had the appetizer platter, the yogurt dip and the beyti and gyro plate. The Beyti was good but not succulent, the gyro plate was tasty, with fresh salad and tangy yogurt sauce. We also had the rice pudding which was delicious, with a caramelized, creme brulee type topping. I enjoyed my experience here but am not dying to get there again. Review #14394

This is a relatively new restaurant that offers Turkish and mediterranean cuisine. The dishes are authentic and all the ingredients are fresh. Prices are reasonable and portions are more than adequate. They have a selection of small plates of appetizers for about $4.50 each. I recommend the Mercimek Koftesi; a traditional Turkish dish with red lentil rolled with bulgur, green onions, parsley and cumin; it's served cold and is divine. I had the rack of lamb that was tender and well marinated, I'd imagine that anything from the grill would be a hit. Another notable traditional dish was the Beyti; ground lamb in a lavash bread roulade, topped with tomato sauce, home made garlic yogurt sauce and melted paprika butter, at least half the tables ordered this. For dessert I would recommend the rice pudding or the baklava. I was really impressed with this place. Review #14281
