“ Nice, you know really what was I expecting Yianni playing the piano inside?(for you jazz fans). It is so hard to find great greek restaurants anywhere. So I was expecting nothing..this way I would not be dissapointed.
I really liked it..nice food and I felt it was authentic. Would I visit again, well of course. If you ever try some of the other greek restaurants in the bay and then try Yianni's..I think you would be back.
Honestly, greek food is a difficult one. If you have greek friends and they go with you...watch out most of the time they are highly picky, and rightfully so. My suggestion, go with an open mind, have a nice glass of wine or a beer...and get ready to enjoy.
Yianni's...Efaristo ”

“ The soggy Spanakopita and bland Dolmas were a prelude of this evening?s meal.. This night we were into greek! It should be illegal for greek restaurant to try to make Caesar salads.Since I usually rate the place on the quality of the salad. This salad was overpowered with rancid croutons and Romano cheese. I think this is the first time I had Romono cheese on a Caesar salad. (At least it wasn?t Feta) The greek salad was much better! The mousaka arrived cold but tasted pretty good. The Calamari (greek?) were tender but the sauce was runny and soupy. The linguini with prawns, scallops, clams proved to have a feta cheese sauce that made it a little too strong. We all shared a Baklava that was good, although a rather small portion. This night the service was friendly but sluggish, and the pricing is moderate for the quantity of food received. If one desires some local greek food this is worth trying, but, this is not what real greek food is like! Parking is impossible so, good luck! ”

“ Yianni's in Noe Valley serves up giant portions of greek food in a traditional space decorated with column & statues. Great starter...Tiropita, a blend of assorted cheeses wrapped in filo and the Melitzanosalata, eggplant & garlic dip with pita...very nice. My entree, Pastitsio, layers of macaroni, ground beef, & greek cheeses....yum, left no room for dessert. A definite visit should be in your future. ”

“ The service was great, but the food was only okay. Maybe it was just the dishes we ordered or maybe the kitchen had a bad night, but my friend and I found the food (or maybe just the avgolemeno sauce) too tart. I'd give it a second chance. ”
