“ Fenton's is one of my favorite places to go for ice cream. I love their Black and Tan sundae (which is their most famous, I believe). Comes with one scoop almond and one scoop vanilla, with fudge and caramel sauces, whipped cream, nuts and cherry. I have to agree with the reviewer who says their ice cream is not the best, but you'll never find a creamery that's still around (well...the fire was a temporary setback). The feel of the place is awesome, though. Tons of people, energetic vibe, but a hassle for parking. ”

“ It seems mean not to love an Ice Cream shop. We did really miss Fenton's when it was closed after a fire for a while. When it reopened it was more spacious and it was an even cuter old fashined ice cream parlor than before. Here's the problem. The ice cream is only mediocre. For a place making it on site it could be so much better. The food is quintisential excuse food. Just below mediocre. It's still fun to go on a warm night and enjoy the communal ice cream fun vibe. However when I lived in Oakland I must confess that on more than one occasion I drove all the way into the city to go to Mitchell's. So I have to say that I only like Fenton's I can't love it. ”

“ Real busy on weekends. They have burgers, sandwich salads, and of course ICE CREAM. Get their 3-scoop banana sundae. You won't be disappointed. Remember to share though because it is HUGE! It includes a scoop of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, topped with pineapple sauce, strawberry sauce, and hot fudge and of course whipped cream and 2 slices of banana. ”
