“Incredibly disappointed at how average the food and service at this once glorious San Francisco great restaurant has become.
Have been a patron since 1999 - proposed to my partner here. Had many important family and social events here. Regularly recommended the restaurant to those visiting. Never again.
To cut a long story short - in town for one night and celebrating our anniversary we took a later (after 9.30pm) reservation and were shocked at the lethargic and barely minimal service we received. Felt as though the entire restaurant would rather we went home. Disinterested waiter who never once after taking *rushing* us through our order was ever present when the meals arrived. No explanation of the meal - no asking if we'd ever dined there before - and a total lack of interest. We counted 5 different staff members who brought us our food and drinks during the night. After our waiter took our order and promptly forgot to bring us water or ever refill our drinks, someone e ”

“
I've lived about a half mile from this place for almost 30 years and have been there 3 times. First time was enough, but then went again twice because visitors from out of town insisted on going despite my warnings.
Their claim to fame is that their chuck is freshly ground daily and that's because they couldn't honestly overtly adverise that it's any good once it's cooked. Too lean, not much taste, just gritty, served on paper plates with plastic eating utensils, paper napkins, minimal service and way too out of wack price-to-quality ratio. Really expensive. HONESTLY, the stuff at McD, BK, or even Jack- I-T-B is better. Don't waste your money. ”

“I've been a victim of all these hypes about how good this restaurant is. I was disappointed of the Bay Shrimp Louis salad I ordered. Some of the shrimps did not taste fresh. I think it would be my first and last dining in this restaurant. ”

“I've eaten here several times with friends who are all on different points of the spice scale and everyone has been happy. The tandoori platter is delivered to your table still sizzling and the Nan bread is fresh and soft.
Actually, New Delhi may be the best Indian food I've ever had. The prices are a bit higher $10-$12 per dish, but it's worth it. I've never had a bad dish here or even one that just tastes average. They don't miss and the flavors are full and developed.

As you drive by the first thing you notice is that their Special of the Week sandwich sign hasn't changed in months. I first wonder if it's the same hunk of meatloaf? As Samarati states, this place is stuck in the 60's... The last time I walked in here half the lights were turned off and the inventory which you would normally see in a popular Deli was absent, as were any customers. They use to sell their ravioli's in the frozen food section of local stores before the customers figured out that they all suffered from freezer burn. There is no reason to stop for a sandwich here, as the last time I did, I would have enjoyed one of those sandwiches that are in plastic containers at a 7-11 a lot better. I frankly do not understand why the owner keeps the doors open, other than possibly .......no that wouldn't be nice to say that. ”

Chez Papa Resto |

“Been here once for lunch and dinner. Both times we had terrific service. For lunch, we got the menu fixe and our server made sure that we got out the door in time for our show. It was all perfectly presented and delicious. For dinner I had the bouillabaise which had very fresh shell fish, but no fish. The broth had a nuance of ...orange, but it did have the traditional rouille and croutons. My friend raved about her brined pork chop. This place was packed by the time we left at 8:30 p.m. I would go back just for drinks, too. This restaurant is bigger and sexier, but just as good as the other Chez Papa.
